November 5, 2013
Well, it's official. November is here and we have turned back our clocks. Now with each day, it gets dark a wee bit earlier, but we also get closer to the Holiday Season.

“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson

Well, it's official. November is here and we have turned back our clocks.  Now with each day, it gets dark a wee bit earlier, but we also get closer to the Holiday Season. Now that the New York Marathon is behind us, (having surpassed our fundraising goal and having completed my 2nd NYC Marathon without causing permanent damage!) and our Charity Miles Marathon Month Challenge has been officially kicked off (and getting great response), I'm taking a brief pause to enjoy this moment.

I am grateful for our team, including our entire staff (including those who didn't run with us this year), and my body for pushing through several weeks of pain to carry me across that finish line once again. Now, we'll be looking upward and onward to seasons filled with graduations and lots of gratitude for the abundance of support I receive all year long.

We are heading back to Haiti in a few weeks to celebrate with our Midwives for Haiti graduate students. They have been working hard since the start of the year, in the class room, at St. Terese Hospital and out in the rural communities in the mobile clinic. When I think about these competent providers in their final lessons in preparation to set out in service of their fellow country women, I am overjoyed. What a perfect way to start the season. Join me in making every Every Season Count.
